Grand Marais (part 1)

My husband and I and some friends trekked up the North Shore for a mid-week getaway.  After a pretty rough camping experience from this spring, I was skeptical about how things would go, but we were blessed with amazing weather and a truly wonderful and relaxing few days.

We camped in Grand Marais, at a camp site that had been named Honeymoon Hill.  It was removed from the rest of the campsites by a cute little bridge, and really made us feel separated and alone in the woods.  We loved it.

We hiked and climbed, we gazed out on Lake Superior, and we struggled to build fires and keep ourselves warm after the sun went down every night.
